Kartra vs. Kajabi [Read This Before Deciding]

Are you considering Kartra vs. Kajabi to manage your online-content business? In this article, I'll help you make your choice, covering the key differences in features and pricing. Though your pick should, of course, be based on features you need, it should also be based on those you don't. I'm going to help make sure you're not paying for capabilities you're already getting elsewhere, or just have no use for.

Kartra vs. Kajabi - features

Shared features

Both platforms have the core capabilities to create, sell, and manage online courses and memberships, plus a lot more. Here are the features that Kartra and Kajabi have in common:

  • Courses. Sell online courses with video, audio, text, and downloadable files.

  • Memberships. Sell membership access to a password-protected portal, with videos, discussion forums, and more.

  • Online communities. Sell access to online communities, where customers can communicate in a variety of ways with each other, you, and your team.

  • Coaching programs. Sell coaching programs. Give students access to pre-made content and/or let them book appointments with you for 1:1 consulting.

  • Webinars. Host webinars. Use them to generate leads, or directly monetize them by selling access.

  • Digital downloads. Sell e-books, audio files, PDFs, and other digital items.

  • Payment processing. Take online credit-card payments, PayPal, Google Pay, and Apple Pay, and automatically calculate taxes.

  • Subscription payments. Sell your premium content with monthly subscription payments. Customers will get continued access to your material if they keep paying the monthly rate.

  • Installment payments. Give customers the ability to pay for a product in installments. Instead of a one-time payment of $100, for example, customers can pay $25/month for four months.

  • Bundles. If you have multiple digital products, you can group them into bundles, which customers can purchase for less.

  • Order bumps. While a customer is finishing the checkout for one of your products, you can surface a one-click option to buy another of your products.

  • Coupons. Offer coupon codes, which can be applied for discounts on your products.

  • Timed content release. Instead of providing customers access to all of your premium content at once, you can automate the release of individual items, for instance, a new video every two days.

  • CRM. Keep track of all your leads' and customers' information, and enrollments, in one place, and assign various tags to your contacts.

  • Landing-page builder. Make high-converting landing pages to capture leads or sell products.

  • Website builder. Use a content management system (CMS) to create an entire website, with multiple pages and a shared navigation.

  • Email marketing. Send broadcast and automated-sequence emails.

  • Funnel creation. Create automated marketing and sales funnels, encompassing website pages and emails. Set up rules around actions your contacts take, or don't take, and send them certain emails and/or direct them to certain pages.

  • Referral program. Allow approved partners to promote your courses and memberships for a commission on any resultant sales.

  • Analytics. View reports on sales and customers' progress through your material.

Both Kartra and Kajabi provide all of this. However, Kartra offers even more major features, which I'll go into next. I suggest you start the free, 30-day trial to get a sense for the platform:
